[ARCHIVED] Statement from Chief Blankenship Regarding Shooting Incident

On February 17, 2023 at 10:55 p.m. the Newnan Police Department was dispatched to the area of 22 Cliff Circle in reference to a person being shot.  Upon arrival, police located a white male with a possible gunshot wound to the chest and officers began providing medical treatment until EMS arrived. The male subject was later pronounced deceased. 

The Newnan Police Department CID Unit, along with the GBI, is investigating this incident.  Further details will be provided as we continue to collect information during the investigation.  If anyone has information regarding this incident please contact the Newnan Police Department at 770-254-2355.
