The mission of the Leisure Services Department is to effectively and efficiently provide services and activities that will improve the overall quality of life for the residents and visitors of Newnan. Our goal is to promote and enhance the usage of city owned parks and facilities by simplifying the rental process, hosting public events and programs in the available spaces, and increasing advertisement to the community.
Leisure Services Operations
The Leisure Services Department was established in 2018. The Leisure Services Manager reports to the Assistant City Manager. Leisure Services is responsible for managing the rental process for City owned and operated parks and facilities including the Wadsworth Auditorium, the Howard Warner Gymnasium and meeting rooms, and Wesley Street Gymnasium. Other duties include planning and implementing community programs and events at the City's parks and facilities, advertising and promoting the use of the parks and facilities, and working closely with Newnan Cultural Arts Commission to plan and promote events.
