Newnan Police Department Awarded Grant from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation recently awarded a grant of $18,379 to the Newnan Police Department to purchase a Polaris Ranger utility terrain vehicle (UTV). The new equipment will allow our first responders to be prepared in emergency situations as they protect the citizens of Newnan.

"On behalf of the Newnan Police Department, I want to thank Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs in Newnan," said Chief Brent Blankenship. "We are so grateful to be awarded the necessary resources to continue to keep the community safe and protected."

The Polaris Ranger will provide emergency assistance in the event that roads and streets become impassable during a natural disaster. In March of 2021, the Newnan Police Department had temporary use of several similarl vehicles during the aftermath of the devastating EF4 tornado. These vehicles made it possible for emergency personnel to provide critical care to citizens. The compact design of the Polaris Ranger will also make it possible for the department to access the Newnan's LINC trail in emergency situations.
