The Newnan Police Department and the City of Newnan are excited to announce Chief Blankenship’s Community Connection Group Open House on Sunday, October 22 at 3:00 PM at the Wadsworth Auditorium (25 Jefferson Street). This exciting event is open to the public and will feature an afternoon with Newnan’s Chief of Police as he shares his vision for building connection between citizens and local law enforcement. 

Over the past several months, a select group of citizens from various local neighborhoods have met with Chief Blankenship monthly in a “Community Connection Group” and have enjoyed an in-depth opportunity to meet with many of the command staff, learn more about policies and procedures, see up close the firearms and gear used and even experience the simulator our local police use for their training. The group also tackled tough topics like PTSD, race relations, de-escalation techniques, etc. 

We hope you will join us as Chief Blankenship and the team share about the Community Connection opportunity and the vision for building relationships between law enforcement and Newnan’s citizens.
